Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania, located in the center of the country, about an hour away from the capital city, Vilnius.
The easiest way to get to Kaunas is to fly directly to Kaunas
The flight is likely to be operated by Ryanair.
The tiny Kaunas Airport is located 20km from the city of Kaunas, in a small town called Karmėlava. From the airport you can take a Bolt ride to your accommodation, or catch a bus number 29G, which goes to Kaunas city center. The bus stop is conveniently situated just outside the airport, and the bus departs every hour.
If you want to rent a car, you can also pick it up at the airport. It’s a few minutes walk to the left once you exit the main airport building.
Before driving in Lithuania, make sure to familiarize yourself with the speed limits and other important traffic rules, as they are not always clearly indicated on the roads.
